Who funds Scratch Tactile?

Scratch Tactile has been funded by the non-profit organization Sistema THEAD, the non-profit organization Scratch Foundation , the Barcelona City Council , and Google.org . Other supporters have included the Government of Catalonia, CRE ONCE Barcelona, CIM-UPC, and more.

Scratch Tactile has received support and help from many people and organizations, and is currently experiencing rapid growth. We encourage you to collaborate with the project to contribute to quality education and ensure no one is left behind.

What age is Scratch Tactile recommended for?

Scratch Tactile is ideal for students aged 4 to 9, as well as students with disabilities or special educational needs. Students aged 10 and up can design new 3D models, backgrounds, and activities, and then manufacture them using digital fabrication technologies.

 

Scratch Tactile elements contain small parts that can be swallowed or inhaled, so it is not recommended for children under 3 years old.

Can I download the designs and sell the kit?

Scratch Tactile was created by the non-profit organization Sistema THEAD, SCCL, and is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

 

Selling the materials or designs is not permitted : you may use, modify, adapt, and share the teaching materials and designs, but always properly citing the original authors (ScratchTactile.org and Sistema THEAD) and for non-commercial purposes . If you have any questions, please contact us .

 

Rights

Can I use the Scratch Tactile logo?

You may use the 'Scratch Tactile' logo to identify the resource or to promote and reference it, but not to make use of it in a way that suggests misappropriation.

Does the Scratch Tactile website meet accessibility criteria?

We continuously work to improve the accessibility of both the website and the learning materials, which are designed to be readable with a web reader. This website is newly created, and in the coming months we will be working to further enhance accessibility. We have made this a priority to ensure that no one is left behind.

If I can't or don't want to make Scratch Tactile, can I buy it?

We encourage the entire educational community and families to create their own kit at a nearby makerspace or by asking for help from local maker enthusiasts. One of Scratch Tactile's goals is to build a community and a network of solidarity and mutual support. The components have been designed to be simple to modify and manufacture using various technologies, so you can use the one most readily available to you. Let us know how we can best support you in creating your own kit.

 

However, if you prefer, you can buy the kit directly in the store or through our network of authorized distributors .

 

Can I present Scratch Tactile at a conference?

Please feel free to create presentations about Scratch Tactile and share them with educators or other groups.
